Make Up books
I didn't know whether to post this under the Make Up page or under the Books page, because this post falls under both categories.
But I guess since they are books they are destined to be under the book page. Ha! I'm still trying to figure out the page application, so bare with me! :-)

Anyways, since I love reading, even though I haven't made time to read in such a long time, I still like to pick up some good books, to build up my library. I think that although the world is going digital there is just this "thing" about a book that can't be replaced by digital-ism. (does that word even exist?) There is something in holding a book an flipping through the pages that is just more exiting than clicking on your mouse buttons! :-)
I don't own too many Make Up books, but the ones I have are pretty awesome and I must say very informative. I don't expect you to go buy any of them, though. This is a topic that I'm interested in and I just like to share it with you.
From left to right: MakeUp the ultimate guide by Rae Morris - Makeup Manual by Bobbi Brown - Beautiful Brows by Nancy Parker and Nancy Kalish - Period Make-Up by Kit Spencer.
I purchased these book online via Bol.com at a very reasonable price. Prices that I don't remember at this moment. But again, these are not only good investments for me because I want to learn more about Make Up but also for my library.
If you click on the book titles it will automatically direct you to the official websites! Thought that could be even more helpful!

- Makeup Manual For everyone from beginner to Pro by Bobbi Brown:
Bobbi Brown is a makeup artist with over 25 years of experience in the industry of makeup artistry. Her book was a must have for me, since I'm a fan of her products! So I had to see what she had in store with her book. Obviously, I was immediately floored (with excitement) when I read this book. Not only because it was written in such an easy matter, but because I gained SO MUCH knowledge! The book is divided in two parts; part 1 being "basics" and part 2 being "artistry". With 12 chapters on literally everything you need to know about make up it also gives an in-depth explanation about the industry. That is one of my favorite parts of the book. This book also guides you step by step to create all the looks, from smoky eyes to blush application.

- Beautiful Brows by Nancy Parker and Nancy Kalish:
I purchased this book to gain a more in-depth knowledge on eyebrows. My eyebrows are of crucial importance to me, they define my face and need to be groomed properly or else I feel that my face is kind of dirty. LOL! I don't know how to explain it, but I always want my brows to look nice. Preferably in an arch shape, because I feel like it suits my face better.
This book contains EVERYTHING and I mean everything you need to know about your brows or other peoples brows! The book contains 3 parts; part 1 is all about choosing the right shape for you, part 2 explains how to shape, color and re-create your brows and lastly part 3 which is classic looks to try for fun. I thought part 3 was a real cool bonus! I'm aiming towards trying out a seductive eyebrow as seen on Sophia Loren. Now, you probably have to get the book to see what I'm talking about! :-) I think this book is suited for everyone who cares about their brows! And again easy to follow step by step instructions will guide you to beautiful brows!!

Paperback
- Period Make-Up for studio, stage & screen by Kit Spencer:
This practical book on period make up is a must have for those who are interested in theatrical makeup and the history behind every makeup period. In this book the author gives an extensive explanation on makeup periods including pictures of old movies and celebrities. Going way back to Prehistoric times and Ancient Greece and as recent as the new Millennium. The Gallery displays pictures of all types of on screen makeup looks and with the step by step instructions you can recreate any look desired. From the Edwardian period to the 1930's leading man! I love this book because makeup for men is also reviewed and I thought this was really interesting. What I liked too is the ease of reference of essential information that every artist needs to be familiar with. All the equipment and techniques are thoroughly explained, because even though it is still make up there are some tricks and other tools you might need that you wouldn't use in everyday makeup.

Top 5 Books you MUST read before you die..part I
HELLO YOU!
Nr. 1. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
I cannot remember one page of this book, where I didn’t feel overwhelmed with so many emotions that I couldn’t control.
The Kite Runner is about two young boys, one of who is rich and son of a wealthy man, and the other the son of a servant. These two boys become best friends.
This is an astonishing story about challenges in a young boys life and the heartaches it came with, while feeling underappreciated and unloved by his father, it tells a story of great friendship regardless of status difference and the loyalty that one person can have to another, and most importantly it tells the story of how forgiveness can lead to the ultimate peace of mind.
I know I haven’t posted anything lately, and to be honest I felt really bad, because I have been getting these hints from my readers, that I haven’t done much on my blog lately, which is true!
I have a demanding side job (sounds weird but it is true) and my full time job which is school, is sucking my last ounces of energy! So, I do apologize! Please accept my apology by reading my new blog post, on the best books I have come across so far. And if I ever leave you guys hanging again, pick up a copy and read it, while I type my next blog post! :-). And of course let me know what you think about them. :-)

I must first say that I have a rather different reading style. I don’t stick to one genre and I am always interested in books that normally someone else wouldn’t want to read. Maybe it’s because I’m so different. Or it could also be because everyone has a preference for certain books..?(Now, that sounds more logical! Haha)
In any case, let’s start with my take on the top 5 books you must read before you die!

I happened to come across this book through a friend, whom I’m most thankful for, because I could relate to the deep hidden messages written by this amazing writer. I could never forget this novel because it has touched me deeply; the way it is beautifully written and shows a different side of Kabul, that I think many people have never heard of and some will never see.
I haven’t seen the movie Kite Runner, and I don’t intend to anytime soon. Because, I feel that a book can and is more detailed and I don’t want to be disappointed, on how I portrayed the story to be, for it to end up being completely different on how I envisioned it.
However, feel free to watch the movie if you want. But I suggest reading the book first, I believe you can get a more in depth idea of the journey of Amir (main character), and believe me you will be blown away!
I hope this was helpful and made you want to read it.
Enjoy it!
